I Caught Belli Dancing On Video

And I think it embarrassed her!  When she saw me she quickly scooted away.  The best part though is at around the 1:16 mark when she starts twirling her arms.  Hilarious!

5 Question Friday

I had a great time doing a Belli Vlog last week for Five Question Friday that I think I'm going to keep doing it.  I will have to start next week though because Belli is currently visiting with my ex-husbands parents out of town right now.  She loooooves hanging out with them and should be good and spoiled by the time she gets back.  But, I can still make up answers for her either way so here goes.  If you want to join in head on over the Mama M's!

1.  If you could, would you go back to high school?
Well I have never been but my mommy hated high school so she is going to do the best she can to make sure I am at a school that I will enjoy.

2.  If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes what would they be?
For my mommy to let me ride my tricycle in the street because she tells me know EVERY time.  And for more milk.

3.  What kids show do you secretly like?
I don't watch TV but my new favorite movie is Cinderella!  My mommy is so excited that she doesn't have to watch Sesame Street all the time now.

4.  What is your beverage of choice?
Milk with Carnation please!

5.  What is something that you would change about yourself?
My bossiness.  If I keep going the way I am nobody is going to like me when I get to school!

My Little Genius

Tonight when I sat down to eat dinner I asked Belli if she could get all of the letters in this train thing she has and put them in order.  I didn't know if she could do it or not and that it would take a while for her to do it if she could so I would have plenty of time to eat dinner.  Well here are the results.

5QF-Vloggy Style

Yep that's right.  You read it correctly.  After much bullying I decided to do a vlog for Mama M's Five Question Friday.  Featuring...Belli!  Sorry Kate =-)

I still have not given in to the bullying for real and will probably never do a vlog featuring myself.  But we will see!

I had to change the questions up a little bit since Belli was doing the answering for real this time by here ya go!

Sigh of Relief

This week has been nuts!  Thank God it is almost over.  This is how the week went:

Monday:  Belli had a routine check up with her GI (looked great and weighed in at 24 pounds 7 ounces) and PT for an hour.  I had class that night for an hour.

Tuesday:  Belli was at The Bell Center for two hours in the morning and then had her evaluation for preschool that afternoon.  It lasted a little over an hour.

Wednesday:  Belli has PT at the house for an hour in the morning.  She had her second day of evaluation that afternoon that lasted a little over and hour.  I was supposed to have class that night but fortunately it was canceled.

Thursday: The Bell Center in the morning again and then I had class from 430-7.

I know that doesn't sound TOO bad.  But did I mention that I had a HUGE project due in class tonight (Thursday).  And that Belli hasn't napped in almost two weeks?  And that she has gotten really really clingy lately?  And that she has recently taken to pooping in her diaper again?

But it's ok...the week is almost over.  And I am finished with one class.  And I got an A!

And now another sigh of relief!

I Think Belli is Going to be a Teacher

I was in the bathroom straightening my hair this morning and I peeked around the corner to check on Belli.  This is what I found.

See her "friends" lined up on the bottom stair?

Notice that she has the book turned to where her "friends" can see the book as she is reading.
Gosh I love her.  She is so darn cute!

Rumors and Such-The National Day of Prayer

Do you remember when you were in school (or this may still happen in the workplace now for that matter) and you heard a rumor about how so and so and so and so did this and that last weekend.  Or how so and so had a third nipple or something really outrageous like that?

Do you remember how those rumors got started?  Sometimes the rumor was based on a little snippet of fact and then just kinda got blown out of proportion.  Or sometimes it was a made up story by someone who didn't like the person who the rumor was about.  But no matter how the rumor was started it ended up as either a lie or only a half truth.

Unfortunately I have noticed this happening a lot lately now that I have started paying more attention to the news and politics.  There has been a recent rumor going around about Obama canceling the National Day of Prayer.  This, I believe, is one of those situations where a rumor was spread based on a snippet of fact by people who don't care for the person this rumor was started about.

I have seen a lot of posts on Facebook by many different people about how the president has canceled this years National Day of Prayer and how disgusted they are with him and so on and so forth.  Now I am all about people having their own opinions and if it was in fact true that Obama cancelled the National Day of Prayer I would have no problem with these opinions.

But, the fact of the matter is that Obama did not cancel the National Day of Prayer.  He is only choosing not to hold the service that was normally held during the Bush presidency.  But guess what...he did the same thing last year.  Why is it now that this rumor is getting spread?  And why is it now that people are getting to mad about it?  Because of the rumor mill of Facebook and Twitter.  I asked a couple of people where they heard that from (because when I first saw it I knew nothing about so I wanted to learn more) and they all said that they either saw it on another friends FB status or the gave me a link to websites that I do not know as a legitimate news source.

So I took matters into my own hands to find the facts.  My general rule of thumb is that if I don't know the source then I don't believe it until I can find it on a legitimate news sources website.  So I did some searching and this is what I found.

CBS News
This article talks about how a judge in Wisconsin ruled that the National Day of Prayer was unconstitutional but that Obama will recognize it anyway.  It then goes on to say that the Obama administration has argued that it was not unconstitutional "because it simply acknowledged the role of religion in the United States."  They say that Obama will still issues the proclamation like he did last year but will not hold the service.  At the end it adds that a rumor about Obama canceling the National Day of Prayer has gone viral on the internet.

This article starts of by mentioning how over the last 24 hours "have been overwhelmed...with rumors and accusations that President Obama  has canceled the National Day of Prayer."  It then says that the Obama administration has confirmed by both Twitter and an email to the Associated Press that Obama still plans to recognize the day regardless of the ruling in Wisconsin.

Fox News
That's right, you read it correctly.  I even went to Fox News to see what they had to say about.  I figured with them being as conservative as they are that if Obama had indeed canceled the National Day of Prayer they would be jumping all over it.  Well guess what their information was the same as the first two I posted.

I found many other articles on legitimate news sources all saying the same thing.  The federal judge in Wisconsin ruled it unconstitutional, Obama will be observing it anyway.  Obama himself did not rule it unconstitutional nor did he "cancel" it.

My point to this whole post is not to argue whether the National Day of Prayer is constitutional or not.  We all have our opinions and that's great.  You can be angry and disagree with the ruling from the judge in Wisconsin and that's fine.  You can worry that because of this ruling the National Day of Prayer may actually not be allowed if it goes to a higher court.  I would actually be right there with you.

My point to this is just to make people aware of how things can turn out if you don't get the facts before believing something.

Guess who showed up for dinner tonight while I was feeding Belli?

This little SOB...

That's right.  I called it an SOB.  If you read this post you will know why this is such a big deal.

I was just minding my own business when the little bugger decided to rear it's ugly head less than a foot away from Belli and me.  My dad, my main concern because of his severe allergy, was sitting just feet away in the living room.  I snatched Belli up out of her chair gave her to my dad and told him to bring her upstairs and stay there.  I was going to kill it with a fly swatter.  My dad, being the chivalrous man that he is, insisted on coming back down to kill it knowing that I was just going to panic, freak out, have a heart attack, or all of the above.

I assured him this was not the case.  I was wrong.  I had an epic fail today in this regard.  That little bugger flew out from behind the blinds and I ran.  It was pitiful.  But while I was running I was yelling at my dad not to go in there.  So we compromised.  He could kill it but he had to use the wasp spray.  It's an instant killer and shoots from afar.

So, now it's dead and I have come to the realization that once I am living by myself and there's a yellow jacket in the house I will just have to leave.  Nice.

Why I Hate the Spring and Summer Part 2

I was not intending on doing a part 2 of this post but over the past few days I have realized that there are a couple more reasons I hate this time of the year.  These are really geared more towards the summer time than the spring time because it doesn't start happening a lot until it gets hotter.  To read part one of this post you can click here.

Exhibit D
Tornadoes.  One of my biggest fears.  And unfortunately Alabama gets them a lot once the weather starts getting really warm.  I have not always been this afraid of tornadoes and storms but ever since we has a very small F0 tornado come through our neighborhood in 2004 I have been terrified.  Especially of wind.  Thunderstorms even scare me now if there is a lot of wind.  When that tornado came through in 2004 lightening hit my TV and shorted it out and my next door neighbor's tree fell down and just barely missed our house.  By barely I mean our gutters were dented a little bit from it.  When I was woken up by the lightening hit and the tree falling my parents and I all ran downstairs to go get the dog in.  We opened the door and she didn't come.  My dad started yelling that he thought she was under the tree.  Both my mom and dad just stood there like bumps on a log so I ran out in the middle of the storm to find the dog.  Fortunately she wasn't under the tree and I didn't get struck by lightening myself.  But I have never felt terror like that before.  So that is why I am now so scared of tornadoes and thunderstorms.

Exhibit E
Roaches.  I hate them so much that I could only look at the pictures long enough to find two.  I have chills right now as we speak.  My heart is pounding and my hands are twitching a little bit.  It gets very dry in Alabama in the summer.  And the roaches just looooooove to come inside to torture me look for water.  I can't even talk about it anymore.

Excuse me while I hunker down until the fall.

Getting to Know You

Sorry I have been neglecting the blog this past week!  With the semester winding down I have had a ton of school work to do so not only have I been busy but most of my brain cells have been going to that.  I didn't even have time to do Mama M's Five Question Friday!  I know!  I am a horrible blog friend!  But I I am going to squeeze in Keely's Getting to Know You.

1.  What color do you wear the most?
I don't think I have a color that I wear the most.  Does blue jean count as a color?  I wear my blue jeans probably 6 out of 7 days of the week.

2.  Would you rather have $10,000 or a dream vacation?
Probably the $10,000 because I could still pay for my dream vacation and have some left over.

3.  Do you have a weird quirky or unusual habit?
I sit on the end of my chair.  I will push my chair back as far as it can go without me falling of or not being able to reach the table.  My dad said he has always done that too so I must get it from him.

4.  I really need to start....
Exercising more!  And learn how to spell exercise because I get it wrong every time.

5.  What was the first blog you ever read?
I was going to say MckMama but then I realized that I found the link at Tales from Auburn so that one must have been first.  The author is a friend of mine who used to live down the street from us.  I guess she linked it from Facebook which is how I found out about it.  But I love reading about her precious little boy!

6.  Do you collect anything?
Just clothes on my bedroom floor.  Both dirty and clean.

7.  How old were you when you got your first kiss?
Hmm...I think I kissed my boyfriend in 5th grade in the library.  In my defense though we had been boyfriend and girlfriend for two whole years!

8.  Do you text/tweet while driving?
Very rarely.  And never if Belli is in the car too.

What Happens When Belli Doesn't Get Her Way

Today I took out the crib I was using for Belli at my parents house and put in the crib that has been at her dad's house.  I had to put her in my mom and dad's room with the gait up to keep her out.  I also had to move the day bed that is in the room too so it took a while.  Belli being the nosy little thing that she is just could not stand not being in her room to see what was going on.  Here is a video of her trying to convince me to let her come in her room (which she calls the playroom by the way).

And just for the record, not one tear was actually shed.

Why I Hate the Spring and Summer

I've said it before and I will say it again.  I hate the Spring and Summer.  While everyone else is happy and excited about the blooming flowers and warm weather I am crying on the inside.  Want to know why?

Exhibit A

You see, my dad is allergic to bees.  Like as in if he gets stung and doesn't have his epipens you might as well count him out.  Like for good.  Needless to say I am terrified of them because I could be allergic too.  I haven't been stung since I was in the 10th grade and people can become allergic to things as they get older.  Belli could also be allergic and there is no way for me to know.  I hate them.

Exhibit B
This is pollen build up on cars.  FYI, these are not my cars.  Just pictures of cars with pollen I found on the internet.  But trust me my car looks the same.  I hate pollen.  I'm allergic to pollen.  My eyes hurt.  I can't breathe.  My head hurts.  And then I need Zyrtec.  I hate it.

Exhibit C
It is so flipping hot here!  It may not get to 105 like Arizona or New Mexico but I will take their arid 105 degrees ANY DAY over our 95 degree humidity filled air.  Some times it is so humid it is suffocating.  I can wake up in the morning and my hair is already frizzy from the humidity.  I hate it.

Please bring back the dead bees, dead plants, and cold weather!

Getting to Know You

Hope everyone had a good Easter.  Here is this weeks Getting to Know You.  Visit Keely's blog to join in!

1.  Showers or baths?

2.  Do you have any crazy urges?
I always have this really strong urge to just tell the truth about certain things.  But alas, I keep my mouth shut.  I figure it would probably be pretty rude to tell the girl in my math class that her hair looks really stupid dyed orange, red, and yellow.

3.  What is the one thing we don't know about you?
See question number two.  This is where the crazy urge to tell the truth come in and I must over power that urge and move on to question number 4.

4. it or hate it?
I hate to exercise just for the sake of exercising.  I love to exercise by playing a game or something.

5.  Do you think you have a good body image?
This probably isn't a good question to ask on a holiday when there has been a lot of food eaten.

6.  Flour or corn tortillas?
I didn't know there was a difference.  I guess flour.

7.  How do you celebrate Easter?
Church then family over to my parents house.

8.  Hard boiled Easter eggs or plastic?
Umm...don't tell anyone, but we didn't do either one this year!  I will probably do an Easter egg hunt next year when Belli is walking.

1.  Do you sing out loud in the car when you are driving?
Yes!  Mommy is NOT allowed to sing though.

I would never be caught being quiet.  In fact, I enjoy talking to much that the other night when my Mimi told me we were going to play the quiet game I started crying.

3.  Will you go #2 in a public restroom?
I will go number two any where and announce it to the world that I need to go.

4.  Have you ever broken a bone?

5.  Do you prefer cooking or baking?
Anything that involved cracking eggs.  I love to crack eggs!
