Five Question Friday

Allllllllrighty!  Time for 5 Questions Friday again!  Thanks Mama M for hosting!

1.  Would you ever vacation alone?
Umm...no.  Mommy would get put in jail if I went on vaca alone!  And who would feed me?  Sheesh.  You people...

2.  Do you go the speed limit?
Absolutely.  Especially if I'm going uphill in my trike.  Then it's more like negative speeds.

3.  Why did you start blogging/following blogs?
Well I don't know how to spell yet (except for the word sheep??) so my mommy does the blogging.  She started blogging when she found out I had to have a spinal fusion.  Here is her first post.

4.  Where do you shop for yourself?
Under my bed.  There are tons of "new" toys under there.

5.  What song did you have your first dance with your spouse to or what song do you want to dance to with your spouse.
I think the theme song to Little Einsteins should do.  You can listen to it here

Belli's Place Q & A

After thinking about it and asking around (you know, to make sure people would actually ask me questions) I have decided to do a Q & A post.  I have seen a lot of bloggers do it and I love to learn more about the authors of the blogs I read so I thought just MAYBE you guys would like to learn more about me or Isabelle.

So leave any question (or questions) you want to in the comments of this post.  It can be a question about either Isabelle or me.  Doesn't matter!  You can ask anonymously if you want too.  I will answer the questions sometime this weekend.  Thanks for participating!

Bed Head

Yep, Isabelle has it big time.  Bed head that is.  I have these pictures from about a year ago showing her bed head.

But in the five and a half months she had her halo on I completely forgot about her bed head because she was never laying on her head.  Her hair would be in the exact same place it was when I laid her down the night before.  So you can imagine my surprise (and laughter) when she woke up the morning after getting her halo off and she looked like this (excuse the dirty looking hair, Isabelle sweats at night and she had just woken up):

Getting to Know You

Thanks to Keely for hosting Getting to Know You.

1.  Waffles, pancakes, or french toast?
Hmm...probably pancakes.  Preferably chocolate chip =-)

2.  Dream home, what would it looks like?
It would have at least four bedrooms because I would like to have at least three kids and I don't want them to have to share.  The master bathroom would be huge with a big whirlpool tub to take baths in and a separate shower and a TV.  It would have a huge wrap around porch with the part in the back screened in.  It would have huge backyard to play softball or football in.  Boy to I have dreams!!

3.  Favorite sport to watch during winter Olympics?
My dad and I LOVE to watch the "tushies boppers" during the figure skating.  It is so funny to watch them fall.  The looks on their face when they hit the ice is priceless!  I plan on letting Belli join in the fun this year.

4.  The first word that comes to mind when describing yourself?
Mother

5.  Dresses, pants, or skirts?
Pants!  Jeans, jeans, and more jeans.  Bring on the jeans!

6.  What is your favorite time of day?
The time between me putting Belli down for the night and going to sleep.  I love laying in my bad and playing on the computer and watching Law and Order SVU.

7.  Beach or Mountains?
Beach!!!

8.  Will you watch the Super Bowl?
Probably.  Especially if the Vikings go.  I would love to see Brett Favre win again.

Five Question Friday

I am so tired I almost can't lift my finger to type Mama M's Five Question Friday.  I think Belli had a night terror last night and it kinda freaked me out a little.  Then I started freaking myself out because she got some vaccines a couple of days ago and I started worrying it had something to do with that.  So then I didn't sleep well.  Anywho...

But even though I am super tired I will muster up the strength to do 5QF just for you guys!  I am channeling Belli as we speak.  Aren't I nice =-) Oh, and FYI I am opting out of question number one today because Belli is too young to be worrying or thinking about these things and it made me a little sad to think about it!

2.  Who takes out the garbage at your house?
That would be granddad.  He does the garbage and the recyclables.  Don't you guys know that's a man's job?

3.  Have you ever had the same dream many times?
I'm not sure.  But mommy thinks I used to have an imaginary friend named Gook that I would talk to at night sometimes.

4.  Can you play a musical instrument?
I can rock out on the piano!

5.  If you owned your own store what would you sell?
Laughter.  I would make millions!  People think I am hysterical...I would have to agree.

Two Year Checkup

So today I finally got around to taking Belli in for her two year checkup (six months late).  Since she had the halo and vest on and we wouldn't be able to get a weight or height and I didn't want her to get any shots with it still on I am just now taking her.

Anywho...

So when we got in the car I told her we were going to see the doctor.  She said "Dr. Rozzelle (her neuro)?"  I told her no that we were going to see her pediatrician.  She got pretty ticked about that.  She wanted to go see her neuro.  Well after throwing a fit in the car for a couple of minutes she finally got over it and was a very good girl the rest of the time.

When we got there they took blood and she only cried a little bit.  The put one of those urine bags on that has that sticky thing shaped like a U that they stick on them to catch the urine.  We sat there for FOREVER before the doctor finally came in.  Isabelle colored and read a book while we waited.

When the doctor finally came in she did not quit taking the whole time he was in there!  She started telling him about how the "nursery" aka the nurse put a U on her "tooshie" and about her book.  He said, "Oh, I see you have a book."  And she responded with, "And I have a blankey too!"  Then she started telling the doctor about his pen and that it was black and that he had a "puter" aka computer.  While he was in there another little baby was getting shots in another room.  Isabelle looked at him and said, "Oh, that baby's crying...Can we go seem him cry?"  It was so funny!  I told her that it wouldn't be very nice to look at the baby cry and she seemed ok with that.

He then started asking me how she was doing with her walking and everything and I told him that she was able to walk with her walker short distances.  Well as soon as she heard me say the word walker she went on this long spill about how her PT came to the house this morning and they walked with the walker and did standing and rode on the tricycle.  He of course thought she was precious and obviously healthy.  I'm pretty sure he was ready to get out of there though!

She weighed 23lbs and 14ozs and was 34 inches long.  She was in the 3rd percentile for weight and 10th for height.  So she is back on the charts, at least according to their weight and height.  Quiet honestly I don't trust their scales or the way they measure so I'm not sure how accurate it was but I'll take it!

Once the doctor was finished the nurse came in with Belli's shots.  She screamed liked a mad woman for about a minute and then she was over it.  While she was still screaming the nurse took off the urine bag and Isabelle screamed at her, "ALL DONE WITH THE LETTER U!!!!!"  Oh my...It was funny!

Getting to Know You

I am so excited about Keely's Getting to Know You this week.  This week for every person that links up she is donating 25 cents to the Red Cross to help the relief in Haiti.  So make sure you link up!

This weeks questions are...

1.  Hair color...natural or not?
Natural!  I have NEVER dyed my hair and never plan on it either.  Maybe one day when I start turning gray I will but let's hope that's not for a while.

2.  If somebody has food or lipstick on their teeth do you tell them?
It depends on who they are.  Family or friends absolutely.  Strangers...depends on the situation I guess.  If it was a classmate or teacher about to make a presentation or something then yea because that would be really embarrassing for them to get up in front of a bunch of people with something on their teeth.  Random lady at the grocery store?  Probably not.

3.  Would you rather have a million dollars or your version of the perfect body?
A million dollars!  I already like my body but even if I didn't I could use some of the million to fix that.

4.  Favorite Magazine?
Ok...I know I'm going to get ragged for this.  But....The Reader's Digest.  I KNOW!  Don't even start.

5.  Bra style...lacy or plain?
Plain

6.  If you walked into Victoria Secret are your more likely to walk out with something sexy or comfy?
Well considering I sleep in a t-shirt and pj pants...comfy!

7.  Do you fake and bake?
I haven't recently.  I asked for a gift certificate for Christmas but someone never got it for me...

8.  What is your favorite physical feature on a man?
Definitely arms and hair.

Five Question Friday

Hip hip hooray!  Hip hip hooray!  Time for Five Question Friday again!  Thanks Mama M.

1.  Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?
My mommy can only imagine what kind of trouble I am going to get into as a teenager.  But, if I am anything like her she will only have to worry about me getting into trouble at school.  My mommy never got into any REAL trouble but did get a few detentions, Saturdays schools, and MIGHT have been suspended one time.

2.  Are you a morning person or a night person?
Both really.  It's that wake up after nap time that I am NOT.

3.  Are you a one handed or two handed texter?
Both hands.  I text people on my play phone all the time!

4.  Democrat, Republican, Independent or Green Party (whatever that is).
I don't know yet.  Being only two and a half I really only care about watching Elmo and making sure I have my milk with Carnation.  But, rest assured that although my mommy is a liberal leaning moderate she will make sure I research all of my options and make an informed decision on my own.

5.  Are you a pet person?
Not really.  Mommy's not sure if I just don't like the dog or if it's just that the dog smells but I'm not a big fan.

Getting to Know You

Time for Keely's Getting to Know You!

1.  If you were stranded on a desert island and could pick one person to be stranded with who would you pick?  Family not included.
I really like Keely's answer, Bear Gillis from Man vs. Wild.  At least I know I would survive that way.  But, assuming I would be able to survive without him I would probably pick a friend of mine from college.  She is absolutely the funniest person I have ever met.  I roomed with her for a year and I am pretty sure I have never laughed more in my life.  It would be crazy fun the two of us on an island together.

2.  Do you read celebrity gossip?
I don't go looking for it but if I happen to see and interesting headline I'll read it.

3.  Favorite show you are watching this season?
I am not watching in current shows right now but I am addicted to Law and Order SVU right now.  I have been watching it on Netflix starting with season one.  I just finished season four.

4.  How tall are you?
5'2

5.  What was the last book you read?
Gosh it's been a while since I read a book.  It would probably be Harry Potter or a text book.

6.  Flats or heels?
Flats!!!!

7.  If you had to choose one natural disaster to go through which would you pick: hurricane, tornado, or earthquake?
Probably a hurricane.  I've never been through an earthquake before so I don't know how scary that is.  I have been through both tornadoes and hurricanes and tornadoes are way scarier.

8.  Thong, panties, or granny panties?
Panties.

Five Question Friday

I so look forward to Mama M's Five Question Friday.  I love trying to be creative in answering the questions how I think Belli's would answer.  So here we go again:

1.  What's your comfort food?
Milk with Carnation Instant Breakfast.  If I won't eat anything else in the world just give me my milk and I'm good to go.

2.  Do you send thank yous (handwritten or emailed)?
Nope, I say "bank you" and blow kisses.

3.  If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month what would it be?
Elmo's Animal Adventures is currently my favorite.  But I call it Elmo's Bencher.

4.  What is your favorite online recipe site?
Recipes?  You have to enjoy eating to like recipes.  Duh!

5.  If you had to choose: Friends of Seinfeld?
My mommy is answering this one for me.  FRIENDS!!!  My mommy is a die hard Friends fan.  She's knows most of the lines to almost all of the shows.  She's actually a bit crazy when it comes to Friends.  But shh!  I didn't say that about her!

Impromptu Doctor's Appointment

So for those of you who didn't know we had an appointment with Isabelle's neurosurgeon today because there were some concerns that she was moving her neck more than should be able to.  Most people with the type of fusion that Isabelle has will have absolutely zero motion in their neck.  Isabelle however has been looking down and even side to side some.  The motion is very limited but it was enough to warrant a check up.  We went in and they took some x-rays and from what the doctor saw everything is still in line just like it is supposed to be.

This, of course, begs the question "Then how is she moving her neck?"

It's a good question.  However, it is a question that we do not know the answer to.  One explanation is that because she has one vertebrae in her c-spine that is not fused that one vertebrae is allowing her that motion.  It could be that because she has Larsen's and her joints are so loose anyway that she has more motion than a typical person would.  It could be a mixture of both of those things or it could be just one of those things you chalk up to God's work.  We may never know but we will take it!

Getting to Know You

Sunday again and time for Keely's "Getting to Know You" blog hop.  Here are this weeks questions and answers...

1.  Where were you born?
Birmingham, AL

2.  Toilet paper: crinkle/crump or fold it?
I pull off the amount of paper I need, wrap it around my hand, then pull it off my hand.  So I guess I fold?

3.  What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

4.  What room do you spend the most time in besides your bedroom?
Living room.

5.  Would you be grossed out if you found out your significant other had not brushed their teeth in four days and you had been kissing them?
Umm...YES!!!!!  That's is disgusting.

6.  Do you fold your underwear?
No.  It takes too much time.

7.  What is one goal you would like to achieve this year?
Pay off my credit card debt.  I have very little debt but it still bugs me and I want it gone!

8.  What is your favorite and least favorite month?
My favorite month is probably October because it is just starting to cool off and the leaves are changing colors but it's not really cold yet.  My least favorite month is probably August.  Mainly because of the heat but it still reminds me of school starting up again and I always hated when that happened.  Plus such hot weather ups the chances of tornadoes around here big time and those freak me out.

Don't forget to head on over to Keely's blog and participate.  All are welcome!
